Oticon Dual Features:
Advanced Binaural Processing (Dual Connect XW)
Two Duals work in unison constantly processing and exchanging data. As a result, the spatial sound compression system maintains the naturally occurring interaural differences between the signal arriving at the two ears. Spatial sound provides a much more natural listening experience.

Binaural Synchronization (Dual Connect XW and W)
The high-speed wireless technology intelligently synchronizes automatics, noise reduction and directionality to preserve signal integrity in all listening situations.

Binaural Coordination (Dual Connect XW, W and V)
All Dual Connect models have full coordination of volume and program shifts via Streamer.

Extended Bandwidth
Sound quality, localization and speech segregation are all vastly enhanced with the expanded bandwidth of 10 KHz in Dual Connect XW and Mini 9. All other Dual models have an 8 KHz bandwidth.

True Dynamics
Dual uses two compression systems which work together in parallel: a slow acting 15 channel system and a fast acting 4 channel system. This protects listening quality at all sound input levels, maximizing audibility and speech understanding while minimizing fatigue.

RITE
Receiver in the Ear provides improved overall sound quality, better high frequency amplification and provides a smoother frequency response. Hence localization cues are better preserved.

Front Focus
The natural front biased directionality of the pinna is restored in the behind the ear models to help the wearer determine whether sounds are coming from the front or back.

My Voice
Dual Connect XW and Dual Mini 9 have the My Voice feature.  This lets users tell the difference between when the wearer is listening or talking. My Voice stabilizes sound through the conversation in challenging environments which often causes disruptive artifacts when the client starts speaking. Changes in SN ratios during listening and talking go unnoticed to the wearer.

Binaural Dynamic Feedback Cancellation
Combining input detectors in both ears the new DFC system is able to detect and eliminate false positive feedback occurrences. Music, whistling, and other such sounds can be enjoyed without the instrument trying to cancel them out. Available in all Dual Connect models.

Enhanced Dynamic Feedback Cancellation - DFC 2
DFC 2 with the new dynamic stabilizer can predict feedback before it happens and protects against sudden acoustic instability by momentarily dropping the gain in individual bands.

Life Learning
Dual Connect XW and Mini 9 analyze volume control changes over different listening situations. It then delivers a fine scale volume level matrix scheme which is automatically applied in those situations that have been shown to need it. This decision is made over time after a proper sample has been taken. Each program is analyzed independently.

Oticon Epoq:
Oticon Epoq is the first hearing device to be built from the ground up with wireless connectivity at the core. Beyond this landmark achievement, these additional features work together to make Oticon Epoq the best performing hearing system available.

• Extended Audio Bandwidth: Oticon Epoq provides a frequency range which is well beyond the typical hearing aid response, extending the high frequency range to 10,000 Hz. The extraordinary high frequency response is useful for identifying sounds and speech understanding.

• Life Learning: Oticon Epoq learns your loudness preferences across quiet and noisy backgrounds. As you wear Oticon Epoq and make preliminary manual adjustments, your preferences are recorded within Oticon Epoq. As Oticon Epoq experiences the same or similar acoustic environments, it automatically adjusts to best fit your preferences.

Ear-to-Ear Spatial Sound: When you wear two binaurally fitted Oticon Epoqs, they act as one "central processing unit" to help coordinate sound for a more stable, realistic and comfortable listening experience.
